Karuizawa 1984 30 Year Old Noh Single Sherry Cask #3032
A stunningly rare Japanese whisky, this 1984 expression from Karuizawa was aged for 30 years in a single sherry cask. It was decanted in 2014, into only 279 bottles and made exclusive to Japan’s market. The single cask collection features different Noh masks, from Japanese traditional performing arts. This design features the mask of Ko-Omote, the youngest woman represented in the tradition.
Karuizawa distillery crafted whisky on the southern slopes of Mount Asama from 1955 to its closure in 2001, however, indepedent bottler Number One Drinks have since released precious single malts from their warehouse. It has become one of the most sought-after single malts in the world, especially as the stock continues to wear thin.
