Littlemill 29 Year Old Private Cellar Edition 2019
Produced at the lost distillery of Littlemill in Bowling, near Glasgow, this 29-year-old Lowland single malt was laid down in 1990. A selection of seven refill bourbon barrels were selected by Master Blender, Michael Henry, which were married together and finished in first fill Oloroso sherry and Limousin oak casks. Producing just 600 bottles worldwide, this 2019 release in the Private Cellar Edition series is presented in a bespoke Glencairn crystal decanter. Each bottle is accompanied by a 5cl miniature of the liquid, a piece of original Littlemill cask, and a booklet sharing the history of the distillery and tasting notes.
The nose is floral and spiced, with notes of honeysuckle, rose, cinnamon, nutmeg, creme caramel, honey blossom and orange. The palate is exquisitely smooth with fruity notes of green apple, ripe pear, and kiwi, alongside a caramel sweetness and orange marmalade. The finish is long and lingering with toasted oak, creamy vanilla, green fruits and a warming spice.
