Unlike most Highland Park expressions, the 40 year is the oldest permanent addition to the Orkney based distillery. On the nose - Immediate smoky aromatic notes full of spice, and nutmeg hit you quickly followed by sweet reminiscences of dark chocolate and rich dark fruits. On the palate the 40 year old is an incredible well balanced expression with lots of heather peat smokiness and toffee with dark chocolate. Complete with a long and moreish finish, that will have you wanting more.
