Milton 1949 Private Collection

This single malt was distilled at Milton (now known as Strathisla), the oldest distillery in Speyside. Distilled in 1949, the expression spent an eye-watering 72 years maturing in a first fill sherry puncheon before being bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 2022 at 48.6% abv.

The nose is full of baked forest fruits, fresh vanilla, and plenty of sherry influence before leading to an inviting palate with notes of apple pie, vibrant citrus, and caramel. The finish is lingering with toffee apple and a gentle hint of smoke.
